Openness and transparency

Our aim is to work with all of our customers in an open, responsive, collaborative and inclusive manner.

As a public body, we’re committed to high standards of openness and transparency. Part of this is about making the information and data that we gather and use readily available to all.

Information about the natural heritage

Search our library to find information that you can download. We publish most of the research that we commission on this website.

You can also access our bank of data about Scotland’s natural heritage via our data services.

We try to always invite and take on board the views of interested parties when developing policy or guidance that affects others. View details of our consultations as well as our responses to consultations issued by others.

Information about our business

We also share information about how we work as an organisation, including our performance.

Most of our Board discussions are held in open session, accessible to the public, and the papers and minutes are made publicly available. See a list of past and future Board meetings that shows which are open to the public.

We disclose the salaries of our Management Team and the level of remuneration awarded to Board members in our annual report and accounts.

We also hold occasional open events – both nationally and regionally – to enable aspects of our business to be aired more fully.
