Working with government

Our success in caring for Scotland’s natural heritage relies greatly on how we work with others across government.

We work most closely with the Scottish Government, in our role as the lead public body that advises Scottish Ministers on natural heritage matters.

We inform and advise Scottish Ministers on a range of issues, and report annually on their behalf on progress on natural heritage indicators. We also partner with the Scottish Government to deliver the Scottish Rural Development Programme, which funds rural improvements.
