Food and drink

Scotland’s important food and drink sector relies on high quality produce from a clean and healthy environment.

Nature provides the raw ingredients for many food and drink businesses, and natural processes support the production of quality food. In turn, the food and drink industry influences how land in Scotland is managed.

Nature also provides us with seafood, game, fungi, venison, berries, honey, sea and freshwater fish, and an enormous range of edible plants.

Our Scotland’s Natural Larder project, aims to raise awareness of the variety of wild food, promote sustainable management of wild food resources and help people develop the skills needed to make the best use of this natural harvest.
