Scottish Geology Trust at St Cyrus NNR

A celebration of everything rocky, pebbly and geological at St Cyrus NNR and beyond. Come meet Scottish Geology Trust volunteers and local geologists to learn about our local rocks and how they were formed.

This is a joint drop-in event between the Scottish Geology Trust and Aberdeenshire ranger service.

Booking information 

  • Booking not required: drop in event, but keep an eye on our socials for the times of talks and walks (tbc).
  • All children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear and bring food/drink if you would like to.
  • Dogs must be kept on a lead during events.
  • All NatureScot events are free of charge but a donation is always welcome.

    To reach St Cyrus from Montrose, head 5 miles north on the A92 coastal road. St Cyrus NNR is signposted on the right, immediately before the Northwater Bridge over the River Esk. Follow the single track road for 1.5 miles to the car park and visitor centre. The nearest bus stop is in St Cyrus (1.5 miles) on the Aberdeen - Montrose bus route.
