Minke whale feeding off the coast of Rum

Come and join NatureScot staff for a spot of Sea spotting for National Whale and Dolphin Watch 2026. Staff will be on hand with binoculars and viewing scopes. The rich waters of St Cyrus bay attract a variety of cetaceans such as bottlenose dolphin, Minke whale and even humpback!

As this event is dependent on weather and sea state there will be a notice board with details of days, times and location of watches at the visitor centre. Staff will not be available throughout the day.
