The purpose of this guidance is to help all plan-making bodies in Scotland to undertake the Habitats Regulations Appraisal of all kinds of plans, or revisions to plans, where such plans are subject to appraisal.
The guidance provides the background context for appraisal. It includes a discussion on procedural requirements and methodology; a definition of European sites; and how to carry out the appraisal in parallel with Strategic Environmental Assessment procedures.
