You can use some of our information for your own projects.
We produce and use many different kinds of information. Some of these are available to you to use freely.
NatureScot information you can use freely includes:

- research reports – available in the publications and documents section of this website

Freedom of Information and reuse
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 gives everyone the right to see information about NatureScot – and to make a written request to reuse it.
You can use some NatureScot information disclosed under the Act – like emails and memos – in certain ways, e.g. campaigns and journalism.
If you want to reuse maps, research, spreadsheets or other data released to you under Freedom of Information you should contact us to check the copyright terms and conditions.
We will respond to your request within 20 days. You cannot reuse information that we would not release under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 or Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004. Find out about making Freedom of Information Requests.
