NatureScot Commissioned Report 103: An assessment of the sensitivity and capacity of the Scottish seascape in relation to windfarms
This study undertook exploratory work in considering possible seascape issues of offshore energy developments

The study identified 33 Seascape Units at a strategic level. It describes their character and assesses their sensitivity to theoretical development scenarios. Seascape values are measured for each Seascape Unit, based on national and regional designated landscapes and wild land characteristics. Seascape sensitivities, visibility and landscape values are then combined to produce an overall capacity index.
The report also reviewed guidance and policy in place at the time and made recommendations for future policy changes.
