Information Request – Financial support to The Galloway National Park Association
Thank you for your information request, which we received on 5 September. We have considered your request under the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (‘the EIRs’).
Your Request
Please inform me how much financial support has been given by NatureScot, Scottish Government, and any other Government agencies to The Galloway National Park Association, since this organisation was formed.
Our Response
We have discussed your request with our People and Places and Transaction (part of Finance) Teams. They have undertaken searches of the information that we hold, including our Finance systems, and they found that NatureScot has not made any financial support, or made any payments at all, to The Galloway National Park Association.
You should be aware that NatureScot can only provide information that we hold within our own records, we cannot provide you with information that may be held by others, for example Scottish Government. If you want to know if they have made any financial support to The Galloway National Park Association, you will need to contact them.
This link will take you to the Scottish Government web page, on how to request information from them.
As we do not hold the information that you are seeking, we must apply the following exemption under the EIRS 10(4)(a) – Information not held to your request.
How We Handled Your Request
We believe you have asked for environmental information as defined in the Environmental Information (Scotland Regulations 2004 (‘the EIRs’), so we are dealing with your request under those regulations. To be able to use the EIRs, we must apply an exemption under section 39(2) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (‘FOISA’). The Scottish Information Commissioner’s guidance recommends that public authorities apply this exemption to environmental information and handle request under the EIRs.
If you would like to find out more about the access to information legislation, there is a guidance booklet available on the Scottish Information Commissioner’s website.
