Scottish Ministers appoint the Board of NatureScot to serve as our ultimate decision-making body.
Our Board members decide the strategic direction of our organisation, in line with the policy, planning and resources framework set by Scottish Ministers.
The Board appoints our Chief Executive and is supported by committees with a specialist focus on scientific advice, protected areas, and audit and risk.

Our Board members are appointed as individuals - rather than to represent an organisation - and come from all walks of life. Anyone with experience in our field of work can apply to join the Board.
