Information Request – Species Protection Plan for Clashindarroch II
Your Request
Can you please tell me who signed the Species Protection Plan off?
Can I also request a copy of it?
Our Response
We have discussed your request with the Operations Team dealing with Clashindarroch II and a copy of the Draft species protection plan (SPP) is attached. NatureScot does not hold a copy of the finalised SPP, and we are unable to say when a final/completed plan will be available, but we hope that the developer of the Clashindarroch II site, may publish it on their website in the coming months.
Two members of NatureScot staff reviewed and provided feedback on the SPP, one of whom was a mammal advisor the other was the Operations Officer who deals with area where Clashindarroch II will be developed.
We have removed some information relating to personal data, as releasing this information into the public domain in response to an information request would breach the Data Protection Act 2018. We are therefore applying the following EIR exemption for this information 11(2) – Personal Data.
How We Handled Your Request
We believe you have asked for environmental information as defined in the Environmental Information (Scotland Regulations 2004 (‘the EIRs’), so we are dealing with your request under those regulations. To be able to use the EIRs, we must apply an exemption under section 39(2) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (‘FOISA’). The Scottish Information Commissioner’s guidance recommends that public authorities apply this exemption to environmental information and handle request under the EIRs.
If you would like to find out more about the access to information legislation, there is a guidance booklet available on the Scottish Information Commissioner’s website.
