Our Response
Following a search by our Licencing Team of the information we hold our response is below.
In the last year how many gull licences, for gull management, has NatureScot issued?
There have been 506 gull licences issued over the last year (up to February 2025).
In terms of (1), could you outline which part of Scotland those licences have been issued for and the frequency in that area?

In the five years up to 2024, how many gull licences did NatureScot issue?
There were 7676 gull licences issued in the five years up to 2024.
In terms of (3), could you outline which part of Scotland those licences have been issued for and the frequency in that area?

How We Handled Your Request
We believe you have asked for environmental information as defined in the Environmental Information (Scotland Regulations 2004 (‘the EIRs’), so we are dealing with your request under those regulations. To be able to use the EIRs, we must apply an exemption under section 39(2) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (‘FOISA’). The Scottish Information Commissioner’s guidance recommends that public authorities apply this exemption to environmental information and handle request under the EIRs.
