Information Request – Deer larders in Scotland
Your Request
#QUOTE Jim Fairley MSP : Though these pilots do not currently include additional support for new larders, we have previously provided £80,000 through the Covid-19 Recovery Fund to support three new deer larders in Scotland.
I would like to be given information about the Larders the minister (Jim Fairley ) Has mentioned a few times in emails to MSP and to myself.
I would like to know where they are placed ? (exact address please)
I would like to know each individual that owns the units by name please ?
The amount of money each unit cost the public purse ?
Who was awarded the units ?
If any of the persons awarded the units had any consistent links to Government departments or their partners. e.g. Scottish Venison LDNS ADMG Environment Link ? ETC.
These units must be around four year old. Have they had any impact lowering deer numbers in their respective areas.?
Finally I would like to know if deer managers are allowed to use these units free of charge to keep their deer fresh for personal consumption.
PS If there is any other information that might help my MSP decide if these units have any relevance to the industrialised central belt please include.
Our Response
We can confirm that we do not hold any information in relation to your request. The Covid Recovery fund you refer to was administered by Scotland Food and Drink and implemented by the Scottish Agricultural Organisation Society. We suggest you contact the Scottish Government, whomay hold the information. Details of how to submit an FOI request to Scottish Government is available here.
How We Handled Your Request
We believe you have asked for environmental information as defined in the Environmental Information (Scotland Regulations 2004 (‘the EIRs’), so we are dealing with your request under those regulations. To be able to use the EIRs, we must apply an exemption under section 39(2) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (‘FOISA’). The Scottish Information Commissioner’s guidance recommends that public authorities apply this exemption to environmental information and handle request under the EIRs.
If you would like to find out more about the access to information legislation, there is a guidance booklet available on the Scottish Information Commissioner’s website.
