Information Request – Cost of the Deer Working Group
Your Request
I would like to know how much the deer working group cost the public purse from its start and until its full recommendations were placed with government, please. Can all costs be included e.g. sub-groups advisor travel etc.?
Can I ask how many full members there were in the working group excluding any advisors.?
Our Response
We have discussed your request with the Wildlife Management Team.
The Deer Working Group was appointed by Scottish Government (SG) in 2017. Although the group were independent of Scottish Government, any costs incurred by the group were paid for by SG, not NatureScot.
Details of the full members of the group can be found on the SG website.
As we do not hold the information that you have requested, we must under the EIRS apply the following exemption 10(4)(a) – Information not held to your request.
How We Handled Your Request
We believe you have asked for environmental information as defined in the Environmental Information (Scotland Regulations 2004 (‘the EIRs’), so we are dealing with your request under those regulations. To be able to use the EIRs, we must apply an exemption under section 39(2) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (‘FOISA’). The Scottish Information Commissioner’s guidance recommends that public authorities apply this exemption to environmental information and handle request under the EIRs.
