Information Request – Beaver Mitigation Measures – Follow-Up
Your Request
Further to our FOI regarding Beaver Mitigation Measures can you provide exact details (in financial figures) for the following incidents.
How much has been funded, for beaver mitigation/damage, in respect of the repairs to the historic dump site on the banks of the River Ericht, on all occasions where the site has required work.
How much has been funded, for beaver mitigation/damage, in respect of the exposure of Blairgowrie’s main gas pipe and the work taken to rectify this.
Our Response
Following discussions with our Beavers Team we can confirm that we have not provided funding for either of these sites under the Beaver Mitigation Scheme.
How We Handled Your Request
We believe you have asked for environmental information as defined in the Environmental Information (Scotland Regulations 2004 (‘the EIRs’), so we are dealing with your request under those regulations. To be able to use the EIRs, we must apply an exemption under section 39(2) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (‘FOISA’). The Scottish Information Commissioner’s guidance recommends that public authorities apply this exemption to environmental information and handle request under the EIRs.
