This report brings together peer-reviewed publications and relevant 'grey' literature on available noise abatement systems (NAS), supplemented with industry experience obtained from a questionnaire-based survey. The NAS considered in the review are described in detail. The technical, logistical and environmental factors limiting the applicability and/or efficacy of NAS are discussed and the key knowledge gaps and uncertainties are highlighted.
