NatureScot has merged Bogton Loch Site of Special Scientific Interest and Dalmellington Moss Site of Special Scientific Interest to form Doon Valley Wetlands Site of Special Scientific Interest near Dalmellington in East Ayrshire on 16 October 2025. We must publish a notice in a local newspaper (and by any other suitable means) whenever we:
- notify a new Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)
- de-notify all or part of an existing SSSI
