Beaver eating sycamore on a riverbank

The beaver is a European protected species, fully protected under the Conservation (Natural Habitats, &c.) Regulations 1994 (as amended).

A large bird of prey in flight in mid-flight with wings fully spread against a plate grey/blue sky. With reddish-brown plumage on its body and wings contrasted by dark brown feathers at wingtips. A distinctively pale, greyish head and a sharply hooked beak. Its long tail is deeply notched, forming a clear v-shape characterstic of a kite.
