NatureScot Commissioned Report 710: Site Condition Monitoring for Odonata features at Sunart SSSI
This report is concerned with the monitoring of the assemblage of dragonflies and damselflies (Odonata) on Sunart Woods SSSI, in particular the northern emerald dragonfly (Somatochlora arctica). Thirteen species of dragonfly were found, including the northern emerald. The keeled skimmer (Orthetrum coerulescens), the beautiful demoiselle (Calopteryx virgo) and the southern hawker (Aeshna cyanea), also present in the site, are species of restricted distribution in Scotland. The site was found to be in favourable condition.
