NatureScot Commissioned Report 402: Developing guidance for managing extensive upland grazing where habitats have differing requirements

01 Jan, 2010

The aims of this project were: to explore existing site condition monitoring (SCM) and herbivore impact assessment (HIA) data from upland designated sites to review the evidence for conflicts between the grazing requirements of nearby habitats; to develop principles as decision support tools that can be used to help manage these conflicts or help to identify management priorities; and to produce a practical user guide for land managers.
