Official Statistics - Natural Capital Asset Index 2023 - Amendments for the 2023 publication
Amendments, Natural Capital Asset Index 2023
Results
Previously, annual updates to the Natural Capital Asset Index were shared with smoothing on the results. After consulting stakeholders for the Index during a refresh in autumn 2022, it was decided to remove the smoothing from the results. Results from the Natural Capital Asset Index for the National Performance Framework remain smoothed and are included in the detailed model for the 2023 update as well as in the Official Statistics: Natural Capital Asset Index 2023 summarised data
Previous versions of the backcast
A backcast of the Index from 1950 to 2020 was published with the 2023 update. This is the most current version of the backcasted index and was updated to make clear that the pre- and post-2000 data are from two different datasets that have been rescaled for the baseline year 2000 = 100.
