NatureScot Research Report 1194 - Hamilton Low Parks SSSI - saproxylic invertebrate survey
This report details invertebrates surveys carried out in the woodland areas of Hamilton Low Parks Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The surveys were to investigate the suitability of the invertebrate assemblage as an additional feature for the SSSI and to provide information for the proposed Local Nature Reserve.
The surveys identified 141 different species within the woodland habitats of the SSSI, including three nationally scarce species not previously recorded in the area, or listed on the most recent review of invertebrate SSSI features, two beetle species on the Scottish Biodiversity List and a new population record for an introduced species of spider.
