The Birks of Aberfeldy Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) is an ancient gorge woodland which is rich in lichens with many rare species. This report provides the results of a comprehensive lichen survey undertaken in 2017/ 2018 and recommends priorities for management of beech. This is a tree that can have negative impacts on lichens due to the dense shade it casts.
