NatureScot Commissioned Report 917: Planning and development evaluation of guidance project - customer survey 2014
This 2014 survey found that NatureScot planning and development guidance is well used and well regarded.
The three items that respondents said they used most were our:
- guidance on assessing the cumulative impacts of onshore wind energy developments
- guidance on siting and designing wind farms in the landscape
- Environmental Impact Assessment Handbook
Guidance on bird survey methods to inform the impact assessment of onshore wind farms was scored as most useful.
Use of our service statements relating to planning and development was found to be relatively low.
The Sharing Good Practice (SGP) event attended by most respondents was on spatial planning for onshore wind farms. Feedback on our SGP events was positive.
More respondents attended the SGP event on spatial planning for onshore wind farms than any other SGP event. Feedback given on SGP events was positive.
