NatureScot Commissioned Report 737: Surveys of Waders and Wildfowl on East Coast Sanday SPA
The Orkney Islands host important populations of waders and wildfowl in particular rocky shore wading birds such as turnstone and purple sandpipers. This report presents the results for a survey of waders and wildfowl on the East Sanday Coast Special Protection Area in November 2012. The counts revealed a total of 7,279 waders of 17 species.
