NatureScot Commissioned Report 546: Goose distribution in relation to SPAs in Grampian
This report collates existing information on the foraging distribution and flight activity patterns of pink-footed and greylag geese in Grampian. Information on goose foraging distribution was obtained from published surveys and studies, while data on overall flight density were derived by interrogating vantage point reports originally produced in support of individual wind farm proposals. Some previously unpublished information on goose flight heights is also presented. The report then discusses goose foraging and flight activity at different distances from roosts designated as Special Protection Areas for these species.
