NatureScot Commissioned Report 459: The potential consequences of elevated mortality on the population viability of whooper swans in relation to wind farm developments in Northern Scotland
Wind farm developments may pose a risk of collisions for birds. Determination of the potential impacts on birds forms part of the impact assessment process for proposed wind farm developments. This report describes a population model for whooper swan and predicts the potential population effects of elevated mortality resulting from wind turbine collisions.
