Seminar Presentation - Why Study deer? - Professor Steve Albon
Professor Steve Albon Honorary Research Associate of the James Hutton Institute is sharing his experience on long-term research on deer ecology. Red deer are iconic in Scotland. Effective sustainable management of population across Scotland requires detailed knowledge of the species’ behaviour and ecology, as well as, an understanding of the drivers of population dynamics and the interaction with their environment, including other grazers, across a landscape that varies in space and time. Professor Albon’s talk reflects on early work and current research on assessing national and regional trends across Scotland.
Presentation given in Edinburgh, 29 May 2019.
