Pressures on feature condition
As part of the site condition monitoring fieldwork, we inspect sites for factors that may negatively or positively affect features.
These factors are known as pressures and may result from both human and natural activities.

Knowing which pressures are present on a site can be hugely helpful in working out possible reasons why a feature is in unfavourable condition.
Where there’s concern about a feature’s condition, we’ll work with the landowner(s) to see how it can be moved towards favourable or recovering condition.
We can offer advice on management and direct landowners to sources of funding to help with the cost of making any necessary changes.
