Mousa to Boddam NCMPA - designation documents

Sandeels, and the sandy seabed in which they live, are protected by the Mousa to Boddam Nature Conservation MPA.

Though it’s one of Scotland’s smaller MPAs, the site plays a big role in supporting sandeels – a key component of the marine food web and a vital food source for seabirds, whales and dolphins.

Mousa itself is also known for its fabulous sea caves, reefs, harbour seals and Arctic terns.
