Lochs Duich Long and Alsh NCMPA - designation documents

Lochs Duich, Long and Alsh Nature Conservation MPA is home to Scotland’s largest known flame shell bed.

The NCMPA was designated to protect both this exceptional flame shell bed and areas of burrowed mud with spectacular fireworks anemones.

The NCMPA complements a Special Area of Conservation that safeguards the lochs’ reef systems.
