You need to complete the following templates as part of your application process:

Selection process

An initial sift of your CV and supporting statement will be conducted against the specific role requirements required for the advertised vacancy.

Candidates that are successful at the initial sift will be invited to interview, where you'll be assessed against specific role requirements described in the advert and the following behavioural competencies:

  • Getting things done
  • Working with People
  • Planning, Problem Solving and Decision Making
  • Learning and Developing

You may also be asked to undertake other selection methods such as Psychometric test depending on the role, a presentation or topic discussion or a desk based exercise.  Details of any additional task for interview will be shared with candidate prior to their interview date.

In certain circumstances, interviews may be conducted by Video Conference.

Security

All successful candidates are required have a basic disclosure as a minimum as part of our baseline security standards. For more information regarding the disclosure process please visit Disclosure Scotland

Health Clearance

All successful candidates are required to undertake a health questionnaire which is then reviewed by our occupational health provider.

Nationality requirements

Our vacancies are open to UK, Commonwealth and European Economic Area (EEA) and certain non EEA nationals. If you are a non EEA national you will be responsible for obtaining a valid work permit, Scottish Natural Heritage will not sponsor a work permit application.

Privacy Notice

As part of any recruitment process, Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) collects and processes personal data relating to job candidates. SNH is committed to being transparent about how we collect and use that data and to meeting our data protection obligations.

Information will be retained for the duration of the application/recruitment process and will then be deleted from our systems if you are not successful. If candidates have requested that their details are retained for future job opportunities, then the system will store your application information for a year from the date of first submission.
