Creag Meagaidh NNR - Getting involved

Get involved as a volunteer at Creag Meagaidh NNR. There are also opportunities for study and research.

Volunteer

Why not join us as a volunteer at Creag Meagaidh NNR?  It's a great opportunity to work on a remote Highland reserve and gain valuable practical work experience.

We are looking for residential volunteers who truly care about the Scottish countryside to work on our NNRs who can commit to a minimum of 1 month.  In return, our volunteers get the chance to learn a whole manner of skills and experience working in the spectacular landscapes of Scotland.  The more time you stay with us the more jobs you will be likely to experience and the more you will learn.

There’s always a lot going on, and we would really value your help. You’ll get involved with a range of tasks – from practical estate management to survey and monitoring.

You can find out more in our residential volunteering leaflet 'Your Nature'.  If you are interested in applying please fill in a Volunteer Expression of Interest Form, noting which reserve you are interested in working on and email the form to [email protected].

Research

Reserves are used for a wide variety of research and survey projects, including individual informal surveys, student dissertations and academic study. We’re very keen to encourage this, as it adds to our understanding of the reserves and the wider natural heritage. We support research that is in line with the interests of the reserve.

We may also be able to offer researchers accommodation in our small residential field centre. It’s used by both volunteers and researchers and sleeps eight. There is a shared kitchen and living area. Please bring your own bed linen, towels, food and other equipment.
