NatureScot nature reserves

NatureScot nature reserves are managed mainly for their natural heritage interest, but you can visit any of them.

There’s plenty to see at our nature reserves, from the world-famous fossil fish of Achanarras Quarry to Glencripesdale’s lush and remote woodland.

All NatureScot nature reserves are protected as Sites of Special Scientific Interest, and some are also Natura sites

You’re welcome to visit any of our nature reserves. But please note that they offer few have any visitor facilities.

To find reserves with more visitor facilities, visit Scotland’s National Nature Reserves website.
