Dunnet Forest notice of asset transfer request under the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015

An asset transfer request has been made to Scottish Natural Heritage under Part 5 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015.

The request has been made by Dunnet Forestry Trust for the transfer of Dunnet Forest.  Dunnet Forestry Trust has requested the transfer of Dunnet Forest into its ownership in order to enable local control for community benefit of a significant natural resource. The Trust's objectives are to manage the land as a mixed woodland with an extensive path network and other facilities for public recreation and enjoyment as well as the production of forest products.

Anyone may make representations about this request to Scottish Natural Heritage.  Representations must be in writing and include the name and address of the person making it.  A copy of the representation will be given to Dunnet Forestry Trust and will also be published on-line.

Representations must be received by 7th February 2020 and should be sent to the Community Asset Transfer Manager at the address above.
