If your proposed development might affect the River South Esk Special Area of Conservation (SAC), use this guidance to help you when you are considering submitting your planning application.
The guidance relates specifically to the River South Esk SAC and its qualifying interests: Atlantic salmon and freshwater pearl mussel. Use the checklist to work out whether your proposal is likely to have a significant effect and if you must submit further information with your application.
Your development proposal must also consider any other relevant natural heritage interests such as protected species.
