This leaflet provides a guide to the considerations needed when a plan or project could affect a Natura 2000 site in Scotland i.e. a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) or Special Protection Area (SPA).
It briefly summarises the main legal requirements and provides a flowchart outlining the steps involved when considering proposals.
NatureScot produced the leaflet in consultation with the Scottish Government.
