Outdoor activity and contact with nature can contribute to a healthier Scotland. ‘Delivering Health and Well-being’ is one of NatureScot’s five key priorities. Increasing the proportion of adults enjoying the outdoors each week is also a key target of the Scottish Government.
Thanks to its accessibility, quality and diversity, Scotland’s natural heritage is an important resource for improving our health and well-being. As a nation, we should make more use of this resource to address some of the physical and mental health issues facing Scotland today.
