Evening exploration

Suitable for all ages, but will be on rough track in the dark.
Event is free.

This is a guided walk starting at the Castle Corner car park walking through Castle Wood to Caerlaverock Castle then back to the car park.
 
Children will be given lanterns and Bat detectors will also be provided, but numbers are limited. Bringing your own torch is recommended.

    Caerlaverock NNR is on the north shore of the Solway Firth, South East of Dumfries.


    From Dumfries, take the B725 south to Glencaple/ Bankend, following the east bank of the River Nith.


    From Annan – Gretna, turn left along the A75 towards Clarencefield then right onto the B725 before Ruthwell.


    Castle Corner car park is sign-posted Caerlaverock National Nature Reserve. The car park at Castle Corner has a 2.1m height restriction barrier.
